Marco Asensio remains coy when asked about the speculation linking him with a transfer to Liverpool FC
Marco Asensio has refused to be drawn on the speculation linking him with a transfer to Liverpool FC from Real Madrid this summer.
The Reds are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to build a team capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
The Merseyside outfit are still yet to win their first trophy under Klopp and they finished in fourth place and reached the Champions League final last term.
Asensio has been touted as a possible target for the Reds as he continues to be linked with a move away from Real Madrid due to his lack of playing time at the Spanish club last season.
Now though, the 22-year-old has remained coy about his situation and said that he would take the time to consider his future after the World Cup in Russia.
Responding to directly to Liverpool FC’s reported interest in signing him, Asensio is quoted as saying by Metro: “Liverpool?
“When the World Cup is over, we’ll talk about that sort of thing, now I’m focused on selection.”
Liverpool FC completed their first signing of the summer at the start of the transfer window when they wrapped up a deal to bring Brazilian midfielder Fabinho to the club from Monaco.
