Insider rules out Liverpool FC selling 25-year-old star to Real Madrid
Liverpool FC will not sell Sadio Mane to Real Madrid this summer, according to reporter Dominic King
Liverpool FC will not consider the potential sale of Sadio Mane to Real Madrid this summer, according to reporter Dominic King.
French outlet France Football, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the 26-year-old could be on his way out of Anfield in a surprise transfer to move to the Bernabeu.
The same report says that Mane is close to joining the Champions League holders after having agreed personal terms with the Spanish club ahead of his proposed move.
It is claimed that Mane was to be lined up as Zinedine Zidane’s first summer signing, but the Frenchman’s decision to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season has complicated matters.
The same article claims that Zidane had been integral to pushing through a deal for Mane, and that the transfer is now on hold until the Spanish side appoint a new manager.
It is also claimed in the same story that Real Madrid have not yet agreed a transfer fee with Liverpool FC for the Senegal international.
However, Daily Mail reporter King, who covers Premier League football in the north west, ruled out Liverpool FC selling Mane to Real Madrid this summer.
King wrote on Twitter: “With regards this story that has popped up about Sadio Mane and Real Madrid, LIverpool have no interest in letting him leave this summer.”
Liverpool FC are unlikely to be willing to let Mane leave on the cheap, with the attacker having developed a formidable partnership with the likes of Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah up front for the Reds this season.
