Liverpool FC quoted £80m to sign one of their top targets – report
Liverpool FC could be priced out of a move to sign Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid, say reports
Liverpool FC look set to be priced out of a move to sign Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid due to the Spanish club’s £80m asking price, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Spanish side are refusing to budge on their valuation of the goalkeeper, with the La Liga outfit said to be wanting in excess of £80m for the shot-stopper this summer.
The same report says that Liverpool FC chiefs had selected Oblak as one of their top targets for the summer transfer window as the Reds look to bolster their options between the posts this summer.
Liverpool FC’s search for a new goalkeeper is likely to have heightened following Loris Karius’ nightmare display in the Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid last month.
However, the same article suggests that the Reds are likely to have to look elsewhere for a new goalkeeper due to Atletico Madrid’s mammoth asking price for the 25-year-old.
According to the same story, Liverpool FC have already made an enquiry to Atletico Madrid to see if Oblak would be available this summer.
However, the Spanish side responded by insisting that he would not be sold for anything less than £80m this summer.
