Liverpool FC set to miss out on 25-year-old Brazilian – report
Liverpool FC are set to lose out on Gremio forward Luan as Lazio step up their interest, according to a report
Liverpool FC are set to miss out on Luan as Lazio edge towards a deal for the Gremio forward, according to a report in Italy.
Local media outlet Citta Celeste, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that Lazio have moved ahead of Liverpool FC in the race to sign the Brazilian forward.
The same article states that Lazio could face competition from the Premier League side and their Serie A rivals Inter Milan in the current transfer window.
According to the same story, the Italian giants have submitted a €15m offer for Luan but Gremio want to secure a transfer fee in the region of €25m.
Liverpool FC could step up their interest in Luan given Lazio’s interest as Jurgen Klopp looks to improve his options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Brazilian forward could be an alternative to Nabil Fekir after Liverpool FC’s proposed move to sign the France and Lyon playmaker collapsed.
Liverpool FC signed Lucas Leiva from Gremio in 2007 and the Brazil international went on to become a fans’ favourite at the Merseyside outfit.
Ironically, Lucas moved to Lazio from Liverpool FC last summer and the veteran midfielder could have a role to play in the Luan deal.
