Craig Burley has admitted that he would love to see Liverpool FC challenge for the Premier League title next season.

The Reds have been earning lots of praise for their strong performances in recent seasons since Jurgen Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.

Liverpool FC were in solid form as they secured a top-four finish in the Premier League and reached the Champions League final under Klopp.

But the Reds ended the campaign on a disappointing note when they were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev last month.

Liverpool FC have already begun their summer recruitment drive in the transfer window by signing Brazilian midfielder Fabinho from Monaco, and the Reds are likely to make a number of other signings this summer.

And Burley has admitted that he would be happy to see Liverpool FC lift the Premier League trophy next season because they have not won it for so long.

Speaking to ESPN FC, Burley said: “I’d like to see Liverpool win it because they haven’t won it in the Premier League era.”

Liverpool FC will be expected to add significantly to their squad this summer as they look to assemble a team capable of challenging Manchester City’s dominance at the top of the table next term.
