Liverpool FC will go all out to sign AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker instead of making an offer for Jack Butland this summer, Michael Bridge has claimed.
The Reds have been linked with a move to sign a shot stopper regularly over the past 12 months.
Both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have failed to convince that they are the long-term solution in goal for the Merseyside outfit.
Karius started in the Champions League final last month following an impressive second half of the 2017-18 season.
The German shot stopper made two mistakes in a 3-1 loss to Spanish giants Real Madrid in the Champions League showpiece.
Liverpool FC have been linked with a move to sign AS Roma’s Brazil international Alisson Becker in recent months.
The Reds could also target Stoke City shot stopper Jack Butland following the Potters’ relegation to the Championship.
Sky Sports News reporter Bridge believes Liverpool FC will prioritise signing Alisson from AS Roma this summer.
“You’d think Liverpool will be looking for a new goalkeeper,” Bridge told the Transfer Talk podcast. “Whether they are looking at Butland remains to be seen. I think they will go all out for Alisson.”
The Reds signed Mohamed Salah in a £39m deal from the Serie A giants last summer.
The African forward won the PFA player of the year after he scored 32 times in his first full season in the Premier League.
