Liverpool FC look set to miss out on the signing of Alisson Becker after the AS Roma goalkeeper agreed terms with Real Madrid ahead of a move to the Spanish capital, according to a report.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that Alisson has agreed terms with Real Madrid to deliver a blow to Liverpool FC’s hopes of signing the Brazil international.

The same article states that Alisson will put pen to paper on a five-year contract thought to be worth in the region of £4.4m (€5m) a season, which would represent a significant pay increase.

According to the same story, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is set to sanction a £61.4m (€70m) bid plus add-ons in an attempt to finally secure Alisson’s signature this summer.

Liverpool FC are thought to be in the market to sign a new goalkeeper to improve upon their current options: Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.

Karius started in the Champions League final last month following an impressive second half of the 2017-18 season.

The German shot stopper made two mistakes in a 3-1 loss to Spanish giants Real Madrid in the Champions League showpiece.

The Reds finished in fourth spot in the Premier League las term.
