Jurgen Klopp told reporter Liverpool FC target ‘far better’ than Loris Karius
Serie A reporter Gabriele Marcotti believes Alisson Becker would be a big upgrade on Liverpool FC No1 Loris Karius
Alisson Becker is a far better goalkeeper than current Liverpool FC number one Loris Karius, according to Gabriele Marcotti.
The Reds have been linked with a host of goalkeepers in the summer transfer window following the Champions League final.
Karius has been Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice shot stopper in the second half of the 2017-18 campaign after the German moved ahead of Simon Mignolet in the pecking order.
The 24-year-old produced some good form before he made two huge mistakes in Liverpool FC’s 3-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champion League final last weekend.
Liverpool FC are thought to be interested in AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson, while Atletico Madrid shot stopper Jan Oblak and Stoke City’s England international Jack Butland have been named as potential targets.
Serie A expert Marcotti endorsed Liverpool FC’s pursuit of Alisson and tipped Mignolet to leave the Anfield outfit ahead of Karius.
“Liverpool have been looking for a goalkeeper,” Marcotti told ESPN FC.
“They have been linked with Alisson.
“He is a far better goalkeeper than Karius. If they do spend money on a big goalkeeper like Alisson, I think Mignolet is more likely to go than Karius.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure their continued participation in the Champions League.
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
Liverpool FC appointed Klopp as Brendan Rodgers’ successor back in October 2015.
