Insider claims Liverpool FC expect Alisson Becker to move to Real Madrid
Sky Sports News reporter Vinny O'Connor says Liverpool FC believe Alisson Becker will move to Real Madrid
Liverpool FC interested in Alisson Becker but believe the AS Roma goalkeeper will move to Real Madrid, Vinny O’Connor has claimed.
The Reds are thought to be in the market to sign a top goalkeeper in the 2018 summer transfer window following Loris Karius’ horror show in Kiev.
The German shot stopper made two mistakes in Liverpool FC’s 3-1 loss to La Liga side Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Liverpool FC have been regularly linked with a move to sign Alisson over the past few months after his impressive performances in Serie A.
The Reds are facing competition from the Champions League winners Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports News reporter O’Connor claimed that the Merseyside outfit are resigned to missing out on the Brazilian shot stopper.
“They were interested,” O’Connor told the Transfer Talk podcast. “He is someone they have looked at. We hear Roma want £80m for him.
“Liverpool value him at less than £60m. I have been told there is no bid. I have been told Liverpool won’t be trying to sign him.
“There is a feeling Alisson is already going to Madrid. It is not going to happen. There interest has cooled.”
Liverpool FC signed Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet in a £9m deal from Sunderland in the 2013 summer transfer window under Brendan Rodgers.
The Reds brought in Karius in a £4.7m switch from Bundesliga outfit Mainz 05 in 2016 to challenge Mignolet for the starting berth at the Anfield outfit.
