Liverpool FC need three midfield signings in the summer transfer window to make the Reds a “great team”, according to Chris Waddle.

The Merseyside outfit finished in fourth place in the Premier League table after finishing five points ahead of Chelsea FC in the race to secure a Champions League spot.

Liverpool FC have finished in the Champions League spot in consecutive seasons under Jurgen Klopp to highlight their progress under Jurgen Klopp.

The 18-time English champions lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final following Loris Karius’ poor performance.

Liverpool FC will be hoping to challenge Premier League champions Manchester City next term, even though the Reds finished 25 points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s side.

Klopp was short on midfield options in the Champions League showpiece in the absence of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain due to injury.

The Reds had Emre Can on the bench following his return a persistent fitness problem in the lead up to the European Cup showpiece.

Former Spurs midfielder Waddle named three signings that Liverpool FC need to make this summer.

“If he wants to make them great, Klopp needs three midfield players,” Waddle told BBC Radio 5 Live. “The three in midfield gave what they got. Their honest.”

Liverpool FC agreed to a £40m deal to sign Fabinho from AS Monaco last week.

Naby Keita is set to link up with the Liverpool FC team this summer.
