Liverpool FC won’t sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland in the summer transfer window, according to Vinny O’Connor.
The Reds have been linked with a move to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer following Loris Karius’ horror show in the Champions League final.
The Liverpool FC number one made two big howlers in their 3-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in Kiev to cast doubt on his future.
Karius has struggled to convince in the Liverpool FC team since breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s team following his £4.7m move from Mainz 05 in 2016.
Belgium international Simon Mignolet has also been inconsistent in the Liverpool FC side before he was demoted to second choice at the Anfield outfit.
Liverpool FC have been linked with a move to sign AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker and Atletico Madrid shot stopper Jan Oblak this summer,
Stoke’s goalkeeper Butland would be a more affordable option for the Reds in the current transfer window.
However, Sky Sports News reporter O’Connor doesn’t believe Butland will move to Liverpool FC this summer.
“I don’t Liverpool will be looking to sign Butland,” O’Connor told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“In terms of his development, he needs to establish himself at a Premier League club again.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure Champions League football for a second successive season.
