Liverpool FC offered the chance to sign Dutch star, claims reporter
Reporter Duncan Castles believes Liverpool FC have been offered the chance to sign FC Barcelona shot stopper Jasper Cillissen
Liverpool FC have been offered the chance to sign FC Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillissen, Duncan Castles has claimed.
The Reds are in the market to sign a new goalkeeper following Loris Karius’ poor performance in the Champions League final in Kiev.
Liverpool FC lost 3-1 to Real Madrid after Karius made two big mistakes to play a big hand in the Spanish side’s triumph.
The Merseyside outfit have been linked with a move to sign Brazil international Alisson Becker from AS Roma this summer.
Atletico Madrid shot stopper Jan Oblak has also been linked with Liverpool FC but the Slovenian and Alisson would both command big fees.
Cillissen would represent a more affordable option for Liverpool FC given the Dutch goalkeeper is out of favour at FC Barcelona.
Sunday Times reporter Castles believes Cillissen could move to Liverpool FC from the Spanish champions this summer.
“They have been offered Jasper Cillessen at Barcelona,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
“He has a €60m release clause. He could be extractable from Barcelona.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
The Reds signed Brazilian midfielder Fabinho in a £40m deal from AS Monaco in the summer transfer window.
