Insider tips Liverpool FC to sell 22-year-old attacker
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth claims Liverpool FC will look to finally sell Lazar Markovic this summer
Liverpool FC are likely to offload Lazar Markovic in the summer transfer window, Dharmesh Sheth has claimed.
The Serbia international has struggled to have an impact at Liverpool FC since his £20m move under Brendan Rodgers in 2014.
He scored two goals in 19 appearances in his first season in the Premier League in an underwhelming debut campaign in England.
Liverpool FC sent out Markovic on loan to Fenerbache in the 2015-16 season and he netted two goals in 20 outings in all competitions.
The Serbian winger scored one goals in six appearances in the Portuguese top flight to struggle to impress away from Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp permitted Markovic to spend the second half of the 2016-17 season on loan at Hull City to get vital first-team experience in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old has returned from his brief spell in Begium with Anderlecht but struggled to leave his mark.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth believes Markovic will leave the Anfield outfit in the 2018 summer transfer window.
“I looked into this. He has one year left on his contract,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“Liverpool will have to sell or lose him for nothing next season. It is obvious he isn’t part of Klopp’s plans.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to ensure their continued participation in the Premier League.
