Italian media outlet Transfermarketweb, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Reds boss is interested in a move to sign the Italy international in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Liverpool FC are looking to add more attacking talent to their team after the Reds were left frustrated in their pursuit of Lyon captain Nabil Fekir earlier this month.
According to the same story, Klopp has decided to pursue Insigne instead of Fekir following the Italian forward’s brilliant 2017-18 Serie A campaign.
Insigne scored eight times and made 11 assists in 37 games in Serie A last term as Napoli finished in second place behind Juventus last term.
The 27-year-old attacker netted three times in five Champions League outings, while he also scored in the Eurppa League and the Coppa Italia to take his tally to 13 in all competitions.
Liverpool FC signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in the summer transfer window to bolster their options in the middle of the park ahead of the new season.
