Lyon plan to prevent Liverpool FC from signing Nabil Fekir – report
Lyon are to offer Liverpool FC target Nabil Fekir a new contract, according to reports
Lyon are planning to offer Nabil Fekir a new contract to thwart Liverpool FC’s interest in signing the attacker, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the French club want to tie the 24-year-old attacker down to a new contract as they look to try and secure his future.
Liverpool FC have been heavily linked with a move to sign the France international this summer, and they were thought to be on the verge of concluding a deal to sign him earlier this month before the transfer fell through at the final hour.
According to the same story, Lyon ended talks with Liverpool FC for Fekir after the Reds asked them to reduce the £53m fee due to concerns over a knee injury.
Now, it is being claimed that the French side are out to offer Fekir a new contract to try and persuade him to stay at the Ligue 1 club.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC have already confirmed their first signing of the summer transfer window after having tied up a deal to bring Brazilian midfielder Fabinho to Anfield from Monaco.
The Reds are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings as they look to challenge for the title next season.
