The 18-time English champions were thought to be on a brink of concluding a deal to sign the France international in a big money deal this summer.
Indeed, Fekir was widely reported to have flown to Liverpool FC to undergo a medical at their Melwood training ground ahead of a big money move.
The 24-year-old Lyon captain was even reported to have selected his shirt number at the Merseyside outfit.
However, Liverpool FC got cold feet over a deal for the France attacker due to concerns about a long-standing knee problem.
Some reports have suggested that the Reds were hoping to use concerns about his knee as a ploy to reduce Lyon’s asking price.
However, Fekir has spoken out about his failed move to Liverpool FC for the first time and looked to shed light on his so-called troublesome knee.
“My knee is super-good. We work a lot on it, we reinforce it. But I honestly feel like before my injury,” said Fekir, as quoted by Metro.
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to secure a spot in the Champions League for the second successive campaign.
