Journalist claims Liverpool FC could still sign France attacker this summer
Liverpool FC could still end up signing France and Lyon star Nabil Fekir this summer, according to Dharmesh Sheth
Liverpool FC could still end up signing Nabil Fekir this summer, Dharmesh Sheth has claimed.
The Merseyside outfit were on the brink of a deal to sign the Lyon captain earlier this month following months of speculation.
Indeed, Liverpool FC were thought to have brought Fekir to Melwood training ground with view to a £60m transfer deal this summer.
Fekir was even reported to have selected his squad number before an issue with his medical was reported to have raised some concerns about the France star.
The Lyon playmaker will hope to prove his detractors wrong on the world stage after he was selected in the France squad for the World Cup in Russia.
The 24-year-old scored 18 times and made eight assists in Ligue 1 last season to attract interest from the 18-time English champions.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth claimed that a deal for Fekir could be rekindled this summer before August’s deadline.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a chance this Fekir deal can be revived,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“He won’t go for anyone else until he is certain this guy is exactly what he wants him to be and the fitness he wants him to be.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to secure their continued participation in the Champions League.
