Liverpool FC star’s shock move to Real Madrid in doubt – report
Liverpool FC star Sadio Mane could miss out on a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid this summer, according to a report
Sadio Mane’s proposed move to Real Madrid from Liverpool FC has been cast in doubt after Zinedine Zidane’s exit, according to a report in France.
Website France Football, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that Mane was on the brink of a move to Real Madrid in the 2018 summer transfer window.
The same article states that Mane was lined up to become Real Madrid’s first signing this summer but Zidane’s surprise exit could scupper those transfer plans.
According to the same story, Real Madrid wanted to sign the Liverpool FC star and the Reds were set to demand in excess of £100m for the African forward.
France Football believe Mane would have been signed as a potential replacement for Wales international Gareth Bale.
Liverpool FC lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final following goals from Karim Benzema and Bale.
The African star scored what ultimately proved a consolation goal in their disappointing loss in the European Cup final.
The Reds signed Mane in a £30m deal from Premier League rivals Southampton in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
