Insider gives update on report Liverpool FC will sell Sadio Mane to Real Madrid
Daily Mirror reporter David Maddock rules out Liverpool FC star Sadio Mane moving to Real Madrid this summer
Liverpool FC won’t be selling Sadio Mane to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, according to reporter David Maddock.
The Senegal international was linked with a surprise move to the Champions League winners in a £100m deal this week.
Real Madrid were thought to have held an interest in Liverpool FC’s free-scoring Mohamed Salah in the 2018 summer transfer window.
However, los Blancos were reported to have switched their focus to Salah’s fellow African Mane to prompt panic amongst some Liverpool FC supporters.
Mane scored nine goals and made 10 assists in Liverpool FC’s run to the Champions League final before he netted a consolation goal in a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Kiev showpiece.
The African forward netted 10 goals and made seven assists in 29 outings in the Premier League to help Liverpool FC secure a top four finish in successive seasons.
Daily Mirror reporter Maddock has ruled out Mane moving to Real Madrid in the current transfer window.
Maddock wrote on Twitter: “One word from @LFC to describe suggestions Sadio Mane is off to Real Madrid. Nonsense. He has three years left on his contract and there is not a single circumstance where he will be allowed to leave.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth spot in the Premier League table last term after the Reds ended up five points ahead of Chelsea FC.
The Merseyside outfit are still waiting for their first piece of silverware under Klopp following his appointment in 2015.
