Sky Sports News reporter rules out Chelsea FC selling 26-year-old to Liverpool FC
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth rules out Chelsea FC selling Thibaut Courtois to Liverpool FC
Chelsea FC would be reluctant to sell Thibaut Courtois to Liverpool FC, Dharmesh Sheth has claimed.
The Blues shot stopper is facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge with less than 12 months remaining on his current deal.
Courtois, 26, has been regularly linked with a move to Champions League holders Real Madrid over the past few seasons.
However, los Blancos appear to be looking at a deal to sign AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker in the current transfer window.
Liverpool FC’s transfer plans could be affected should Real Madrid manage to sign the first-choice Brazil goalkeeper.
Reports have linked the Reds with a potential switch to sign Courtois from Chelsea FC ahead of the new Premier League season.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth claims Chelsea FC wouldn’t entertain the notion of selling Courtois to Liverpool FC or any other English club.
“I can’t see Chelsea allowing Courtois going to another Premier League rival for me,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.
Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second successive campaign.
The Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final thanks to Eden Hazard’s winner from the spot.
