Liverpool FC contact English club about signing 26-year-old forward – report
Liverpool FC have made an approach to sign Stoke City forward Xherdan Shaqiri, according to a report in England
Liverpool FC have contacted Stoke City about the possibility of signing Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer transfer window, according to a report in England.
Transfer insider Indykaila, as quoted by website 90min, is reporting that the Reds have made an approach for the Switzerland international.
The same article states that Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp is willing to gamble on the unpredictable Swiss playmaker in the current transfer window.
According to the same story, the Reds wouldn’t be prepared to pay more than £15m for the former Inter Milan forward.
Shaqiri was criticised for his lacklustre performances in the Premier League last season as Stoke were relegated to the Championship.
The 26-year-old scored eight goals and made seven assists in 36 appearances in the Premier League in the 2017-18 season.
Shaqiri is a talented footballer but the Swiss star has often faced accusations about his inconsistency and his ability to dig deep.
The Swiss starlet has scored 15 times in 95 games in all competitions during three seasons at the Potters.
Liverpool FC signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £40m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco last week.
The Reds lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev.
