Liverpool FC will miss out on the signing of FC Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, according to a report
Liverpool FC are set to be disappointed in the race to sign FC Barcelona and Colombia defender Yerry Mina, according to a report in Spain.
Spanish media outfit Sport, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that Liverpool FC are facing competition to sign Mina in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that La Liga side Real Betis are confident of seeing off competition from the Reds in the Colombian centre-half.
According to the same story, Mina is being widely tipped to leave FC Barcelona on loan in the coming weeks after struggling to secure regular football at Camp Nou.
Liverpool FC are in the market to sign a new centre-half in the summer transfer window after the addition of Virgil van Dijk in a world record fee for a defender back in January.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
Liverpool FC lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Kiev after Sadio Mane netted a consolation goal.
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title but the Reds finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
