Man United have option to re-sign 23-year-old Belgium star – report
Man United have the option to re-sign Adnan Januzaj from Real Sociedad, according to reports
Adnan Januzaj could yet return to Manchester United after his World Cup heroics for Belgium in Russia, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is reporting that the Red Devils have the option to re-sign the 23-year-old attacker after he was let go by Manchester United last year.
Januzaj was sold to Real Sociedad on a permanent deal after a disappointing loan spell under David Moyes at Sunderland, however Jose Mourinho “demanded” that a buy-back clause was inserted into the deal, according to the same story.
The same story claims that Manchester United opted to insert the clause after learning their lesson from selling Paul Pogba back in 2012, before paying £89m to re-sign him from Juventus.
According to the same report, Memphis Depay has a similar clause in his contract.
Januzaj earned plenty of praise for his impressive winning goal for Belgium in the 1-0 victory over England at the World Cup in Russia on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to try and bolster their squad ahead of next season.
The Red Devils finished second and without a trophy under Mourinho last term.
