Man United switch attentions to signing 23-year-old Valencia star – report
Man United have abandoned plans to sign Alex Sandro and will instead target Jose Luis Gaya, say reports
Manchester United have abandoned plans to sign Alex Sandro and will instead turn their attentions towards landing Jose Luis Gaya from Valencia, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils have identified the 23-year-old Valencia man as their top left-back target this summer after pulling the plug on their interest in singing Sandro from Juventus.
According to the same story, Jose Mourinho had made Sandro Manchester United’s top left-back target this summer, but the Red Devils are not willing to pay Juventus’ £50m asking price.
Now, Manchester United are believed to have turned their attentions towards other targets and Gaya has emerged as one of their top possible signings this summer.
The same article says that Gaya would cost Manchester United a fee closer to £30m this summer should they look to try and bring him to Old Trafford.
Ashley Young played at left-back for most of last season and the same article says that doubts still remain about Luke Shaw’s long-term future at the club.
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as the Red Devils look to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
