Ander Herrera makes Man United decision after Fred signing – report
Ander Herrera is prepared to turn down transfer offers and stay at Man United, say reports
Ander Herrera is prepared to turn down transfer offers from elsewhere and stay at Manchester United, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Spanish midfielder is keen to say at Old Trafford and fight for his place in the first team at Manchester United, despite the increased competition for starting spots.
Manchester United confirmed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk last week as the Red Devils began their summer recruitment drive.
The 25-year-old’s arrival at Old Trafford is likely to increase the competition for starting spots at Manchester United from next season.
Herrera already found his first-team opportunities to be somewhat limited last season and that had prompted talk of a move away from Old Trafford for the midfielder.
The Spaniard also has only one year left on his contract at Old Trafford and that could spark interest from a number of clubs.
However, according to the report, the Spanish midfielder is prepared to stay at Manchester United and fight for his place in the first team in Jose Mourinho’s side.
Manchester United finished second in the Premier League table and without a trophy last season.
