Man United starlet sends message to fans after signing new contract
Dean Henderson expresses his delight at signing a new contract at Man United
Dean Henderson has expressed his delight at putting pen to paper on a new contract with Manchester United.
The young goalkeeper has ended the immediate future about his speculation by signing a new deal with the Red Devils to keep him at Old Trafford until the summer of 2020.
The 21-year-old had been linked with a move away from the Old Trafford outfit but he has now committed his future to Jose Mourinho’s side as he looks to try and stake his claim for a spot in the first team.
Henderson spent last season on loan to League One club Shrewsbury Town and his new contract also includes the option for a Manchester United to trigger a one-year extension.
Speaking in an interview with MUTV, Henderson expressed his delight at penning a new deal with the Red Devils: “I’m really delighted.
“Coming off the back of last season and playing games at Shrewsbury and having a good season there, to return to the biggest club in the world and put pen-to-paper again is a great achievement for me and my family. It’s another dream come true.
“Obviously, there was a lot of interest after last season, when I’ve done myself well going out and playing but, look, United are the biggest club in the world and have been my club since day one so, of course, they are always first in my mind.
“All my family are here with me now and it’s an honour. To come from where we started from, from nothing, to come all this way is fantastic and I’m just really delighted.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Mourinho looks to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The Red Devils finished second in the Premier League and without a trophy last term, and they have already confirmed the signings of midfielder Fred and full-back Diogo Dalot this month.
