Man United ready to spend big on signing 19-year-old – report
Manchester United are prepared to spend big on signing Diogo Dalot from FC Porto this summer, say reports
Manchester United are prepared to pay over the odds to secure the signing of Diogo Dalot from FC Porto this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Times, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Red Devils are aware of competition from the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as they look to try and bring the 19-year-old to Old Trafford this summer.
The same report says that FC Porto have so far been unsuccessful in their attempts to try and tie Dalot down to a new contract, and that his £17.5m release clause becomes active in the coming days.
However, it is also claimed that Manchester United are now prepared to pay more than that figure to ensure that Dalot does move to Old Trafford this summer.
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of signings this summer as they look to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
The Red Devils ended up in second place in the top flight table last season and without a trophy in Jose Mourinho’s second campaign in charge.
They have not won the Premier League trophy since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.
