Didier Drogba sends message to Man United fans about Paul Pogba
Didier Drogba is backing Paul Pogba to come good for both club and country
Didier Drogba is backing Paul Pogba to deliver for both Manchester United and France.
The midfielder has found himself under scrutiny in recent months due to his failure to produce consistent performances for the Red Devils under Jose Mourinho.
Pogba had started last season strongly but he struggled during the second part of the season and most Manchester United fans would probably agree that he is yet to fulfil his potential at Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old will be hoping to help Manchester United enjoy a strong season next term, but before that he will be bidding to hit top gear for France at the World Cup in Russia.
And former Chelsea FC star Drogba is backing Pogba to come good for both club and country in the coming weeks and months.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Drogba said: “I think he does deliver.
“The fact that he’s had difficult moments in the last few months at United [has meant] he’s been quiet on social media.
“He’s been focusing on getting in the starting line-up. I think this will help him. He wants to prove to people that he can be the man.”
Manchester United will be aiming to try and challenge for the Premier League title next season after they finished in second place last term.
The Red Devils did not win a trophy in Mourinho’s second season in charge of the club after they finished in second place and lost to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final back in May.
Manchester United have not won the Premier League trophy since 2013.
