Fred became Manchester United’s first recruit of the summer transfer window this week when the Red Devils confirmed that they had completed a deal to bring the 25-year-old to Old Trafford from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 25-year-old will now be hoping to quickly settle into life at Old Trafford as he looks to become a key figure in the Manchester United team in the coming seasons.
Pogba has been criticised for his failure to product consistent performances for Manchester United since his move back to the club from Juventus two years ago.
However, Brazilian journalist Vickery seems to think that the arrival of Fred could allow Pogba to flourish in Manchester United’s midfield in the coming seasons.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Vickery said: “He [Mourinho] can imagine him sitting alongside Matic. Fred will get up and down as the link.
“He could finally get the best out of Pogba. He will fit in very nicely in the Man United line up.”
Manchester United also confirmed their second signing of the summer transfer window on Wednesday when they tied up a deal to bring young right-back Diogo Dalot to Old Trafford from FC Porto.
The Red Devils are aiming to win the Premier League for the first time since 2013 next season.
