Fred has insisted that he is still not sure where he will be playing his football next season despite being heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United this summer.

The 25-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk star has been heavily touted as a target for Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils side as the Portuguese coach looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.

Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they bid to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next term.

Fred is closing in on a move to Old Trafford if the widespread reports are to be believed, but the player himself has insisted that there is no deal in place as things stand.

When asked if he will be in Manchester for his medical this week, Fred told Globo: “I’m going to talk to the people, meet my friends. I still do not know where I’m going.

“I’ll still talk to my agents to find out the reality of it. I want to focus only on the national team. It’s a unique time, the World Cup

“We have to try to forget things from outside.”

Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season and without a trophy.

The Red Devils have not won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge in 2013, and they were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley last month.
