Insider plays down Man United chances of signing Real Madrid star
Gabriele Marcotti plays down the chances of Man United signing Gareth Bale this summer
Gabriele Marcotti has played down the chances of Manchester United signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer due to tactical problems.
The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move to bring the Wales international to Old Trafford this summer after the 28-year-old admitted that he would be considering his future this summer.
Bale sparked the speculation about his future in the wake of the Champions League final due to his lack playing time last season, and Manchester United have naturally been touted as a possible destination for the Wales international.
However, football journalist Marcotti seems to think that a move to Old Trafford for Bale is unlikely this summer, because Jose Mourinho would have to accommodate both him and Alexis Sanchez into the team.
Speaking to ESPN FC, Marcotti said: “There is an issue with Alexis Sanchez. One of the two would have to switch flanks.”
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The Red Devils have already signed Diogo Dalot and Fred this summer as Jose Mourinho aims to bolster his squad.
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season and without a trophy.
