Man United deal blow to Tottenham’s hopes of signing striker – report
Man United have placed a £75m asking price on Anthony Martial this summer, say reports
Manchester United have dented Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing Anthony Martial this summer by slapping a £75m price tag on the striker, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils are determined to keep hold of the 22-year-old forward, despite his lack of playing time last season.
Martial has been touted as a target for the likes of both Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain recently, with the French forward’s agent claiming last week that his client is keen on a move away.
However, Manchester United are now being reported as being keen to keep hold of Martial this summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next term.
Tottenham Hotspur had been credited with an interest in signing the forward this summer, but it seems that an asking price of £75m is likely to be too much for the north London side.
Martial’s future has been a source of speculation because of his lack of playing time under Jose Mourinho last term.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have already concluded their first two signings of the summer transfer window after having tied up deals for both Diogo Dalot and Fred.
