Paul Pogba admits that he had some issues with Man United boss Jose Mourinho last season
Paul Pogba has admitted that he had some “small issues” with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United last season but played down suggestions of a falling-out between the pair.
Pogba found himself under intense scrutiny last season as the Red Devils ended up the campaign without a trophy following their second-placed finish in the Premier League.
The France international was regularly criticised for failing to produce consistent performances for the Red Devils after having started the season strongly.
His stuttering form has prompted some speculation that he could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer.
However, Pogba has moved to play down the significance of the issues he had with Mourinho last season and insisted that he has learnt a lot from the situation.
Pogba is quoted as saying by ESPN: “It was a better season that the previous one.
“It was an experience. There were some small issues with [Mourinho], but they were nothing in the end.
“Being a substitute, that sort of thing, it helps you to grow. I have to accept it.”
Manchester United are aiming to challenge for the Premier League next season after they ended up 19 points behind champions Manchester City last term.
The Red Devils have not won the Premier League title since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
Manchester United reached the FA Cup final last term but ended up being beaten by Chelsea FC in the final at Wembley.
