David De Gea has insisted that he is happy at Manchester United amid speculation linking him with a possible move to Real Madrid this summer.

The Spanish goalkeeper is widely regarded to be one of the world’s top shot-stoppers and he has earned huge amounts of praise for his performances for Manchester United in recent seasons.

De Gea has long been touted as a possible target for Spanish giants Real Madrid, and he came within a whisker of signing for the Spanish side back in the summer of 2015 before the deal fell through at the final hour.

The speculation linking the goalkeeper with a move to Real Madrid seems to rear its head every summer, but the shot-stopper has now insisted that he is happy at Old Trafford and his only focus is making sure his preparation for the World Cup is as good as it can be.

De Gea is quoted as saying by Metro: I’m always calm. The important date is June 15.

“The World Cup is important, for us to deliver a good performance, for the team to do well and for things to go as well as possible.

“Personally, I’m happy where I’m at, happy and at the same time I’m focused on the national team.”

Manchester United are likely to be keen to make a number of signings this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.

The Red Devils finished second in the table but without a trophy last term.
