New Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui has made signing David De Gea from Manchester United his top transfer priority this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Don Balon, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the new man in charge at the Bernabeu has already drawn up a list of his top targets for the summer window – and Red Devils stopper De Gea is his number one priority.

Lopetegui was officially named as Zinedine Zidane’s replacement at the Bernabeu on Tuesday and he will take charge of the Spanish giants after this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

De Gea has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid and he was on the verge of completing a transfer to the Bernabeu in September 2015, before the deal fell through at the final hour.

The 27-year-old Spain international has been earning huge amounts of praise for his strong performances for Manchester United recently and it seems that the transfer talk linking him with a move to Real Madrid won’t be going away any time soon.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have already completed their first two signings of the summer transfer window by concluding deals for both Diogo Dalot and Fred.
