Henrik Larsson sends Man United message to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
Henrik Larsson assesses the reports linking Sergej Milinkovic-Savic with a transfer to Man United
Henrik Larsson has admitted that he isn’t sure whether Sergej Milinkovic-Savic would be good enough for Manchester United.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his squad ahead of his third season in charge at the club.
The Lazio star is also said to be attracting interest from a host of other top European clubs, with his future looking set to be a source of speculation throughout the summer.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will be able to complete a deal to sign the Serbia international, who is on duty with his country at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
However, Larsson, who spent a short spell on loan at United in 2007, has not been too impressed by what he saw from him and played down his impact during the first half of Serbia’s clash with Costa Rica.
Speaking to ITV Sport, Larsson said: “It’s so hard to say [if he has the talent to play for United].
“I don’t feel that he’s done that much in the game so far. He’s done a few interesting things, but not really made a mark in my sense.
“Costa Rica are not giving him the space to drop down where he really wants to play.”
Manchester United have already completed two signings this summer after having wrapped up deals for both midfielder Fred and full-back Diogo Dalot.
The Red Devils finished in second place in the Premier League table last season and without a trophy.
