Reporter says Man United want to sign 26-year-old Brazilian star
Manchester United want to sign Juventus defender Alex Sandro, according to reporter Michael Bridge
Manchester United would love to sign Alex Sandro to improve their left-back options this summer, according to Michael Bridge.
The Red Devils have been regularly linked with a move to sign Sandro over the past 12 months given Luke Shaw’s poor performances.
Manchester United were thought to be facing competition from Chelsea FC for Sandro but the Blues’ interest appears to have waned.
The 20-time English champions are rumoured to have made attempts to sign the Brazil international given his uncertain future in Turin.
Jose Mourinho has been regularly critical of Shaw following the England international’s lacklustre performances at Old Trafford.
Sky Sports News reporter Bridge believes Sandro would be a great addition but added the South American is keen to remain at Juventus.
“Sandro would be the marquee signing,” Bridge told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“A friend of mine who works closely in Italy says Sandro is more keen on remaining at Italy and signing a new deal with Juventus.”
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season and 19 points behind champions Manchester City.
The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley after Eden Hazard netted from the penalty spot.
