Tottenham Hotspur have a long standing interest in Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, according to reporter Michael Bridge.

The France international is facing an uncertain future at the north London side given his lack of playing time at Manchester United this term.

Martial was an instant hit at Old Trafford following his £36m move to Manchester United from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in 2015.

The Red Devils forward scored 18 goals in all competitions in his debut season under Dutch head coach Louis van Gaal.

However, Jose Mourinho’s appointment in 2016 has seen Martial fall down the pecking order at the 20-time English champions.

Martial has scored nine goals and has made five assists in 18 starts and 12 substitute appearances in the Premier League last term.

The France star has been linked with a potential move to Serie A giants Inter Milan and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Sky Sports News reporter Bridge believes Tottenham still have an interest in Martial in the current transfer window.

“Spurs have a long standing interest in Man United striker Anthony Martial,” Bridge told the Transfer Window podcast.

“It dates back to his time at Monaco. I can’t see Mourinho selling him.”

Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last term to secure their continued participation in the Champions League.
