Reporter gives latest Man United transfer update on Cristiano Ronaldo
Manchester United won't sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid this summer, according to a reporter
Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t attracting interest from the Premier League this summer despite talk of a return to Manchester United, Ian McGarry has claimed.
The Portugal international is currently preparing for his national team’s opener against Spain in the World Cup in Russia later this week.
Ronaldo has cast doubt on his future at Real Madrid after the Portuguese forward discussed a potential transfer following the Champions League final.
Indeed, the 33-year-old openly spoke about his discontent at Real Madrid a matter of minutes after their 3-1 win over Liverpool FC in Kiev last month.
Ronaldo is reportedly unhappy at his wage packet in comparisons to his rivals Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Manchester United have been regularly linked with a move to sign Ronaldo over the past few seasons, although the Portuguese forward has used the Red Devils as a bargaining chip for a new deal at Real Madrid.
Reporter McGarry has played down the chances of Manchester United – or any other Premier League club – launching a bid to sign Ronaldo this summer.
“To my knowledge, there is little or no interest in the Premier League given his wages and his age,” McGarry told the Transfer Window podcast.
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last term to secure their best finish since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
The Red Devils lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
