David De Gea has refused to entertain any questions about a potential move to Real Madrid this summer.

The Spain international finished the 2017-18 season without silverware despite his heroic performances for Manchester United.

De Gea has been the Premier League’s most consistent player over the past five seasons since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

The Red Devils haven’t won the top-flight crown since the Scottish head coach resigned following stints under David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United have managed to retain De Gea’s services over the past few seasons despite persistent transfer speculation linking the goalkeeper with a return to the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid are thought to be interested in the former Atletico Madrid shot stopper as los Blancos look to find a replacement for Keylor Navas.

However, De Gea was quick to dismiss questions about his future at Manchester United ahead of the World Cup.

“My future?” De Gea is quoted as saying by the Daily Express. “The important thing is the World Cup and not to think of anything else that can divert you or upset you.

“You have to be focused on having a good World Cup – we are all good.

“Hopefully we can go far and win.”

Manchester United lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final after Eden Hazard beat De Gea from the penalty spot in the first half at Wembley.
