Man United keeping tabs on eight potential summer transfer targets – report
Man United want to sign a new central defender and are tracking eight players, say reports
Manchester United are keeping tabs on as many as eight different defenders this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his squad at Old Trafford, according to reports in the British media.
The Manchester Evening News is reporting that the Red Devils are tracking a number of top defenders this summer as Mourinho looks to bolster his options at the back.
As well as Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld, Manchester United are apparently keeping tabs on Raphael Varane, Jerome Boateng, Kalidou Koulibaly, Milan Skriniar, Alessio Romagnoli, Jose Gimenez and Caglar Soyuncu this summer.
Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for a new defender this summer as Mourinho looks to shore up his rearguard ahead of his third season in charge at Old Trafford.
The same story says that it is Manchester United’s plan to sign a new centre-half this summer, and the new arrival will not necessarily mean that they will sell one of their existing defenders.
Manchester United have already made two new signings this summer after having concluded deals to bring both full-back Diogo Dalot and midfielder Fred to Old Trafford last week.
The Red Devils finished second and without a trophy last season.
