Man United target deal to sign quality Uruguayan – report
Manchester United are keen on a deal to sign Diego Godin from Atletico Madrid this summer, according to reports
Manchester United are considering a deal to sign Diego Godin from Atletico Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper AS, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, is reporting that the Red Devils are pondering a move to try and bring the experienced defender to Old Trafford this summer.
The same report says that Jose Mourinho has identified Godin as the defender he wants to bring to Old Trafford to strengthen his rearguard options ahead of next season.
The same article says that the 32-year-old centre-half could be available for as little as £18m this summer as Mourinho looks to add some more steel to his squad.
It is claimed in the same story that Atletico Madrid are keen to tie the defender down to a new contract, but he could apparently be convinced to leave if the right offer came along.
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the title next season.
The Red Devils finished second in the Premier League table and without a trophy under Mourinho last term in a largely disappointing campaign.
