Marouane Fellaini has confirmed that he will make an official announcement about his Manchester United future on 1 July.
The 30-year-old midfielder’s situation has been a constant source of speculation in recent months due to the fact that his current contract is at Old Trafford is set to expire at the end of the month.
Jose Mourinho has publicly stated his desire to keep Fellaini at Old Trafford, but the Belgium international is yet to commit his future to the club.
Naturally, Fellaini has been linked with a move away from Manchester United due to his contract situation at Old Trafford, with Arsenal having been credited with an interest in some reports.
However, the midfielder has now insisted that he will make a final decision about his future in the coming days.
He is currently on international duty with Belgium at the World Cup in Russia but confirmed that an announcement about his situation is incoming.
Fellaini was asked if the reports about his future had affected his focus in the World Cup and replied as quoted by the Manchester Evening News: “No, for a few months I am used to it.
“I am strong mentally to deal with it and soon I will say where I will be playing next season.”
He was then asked if there would be confirmation on 1 July, to which he replied: “Yes.”
Manchester United finished second and without a trophy last term.
