Manchester United would be interested in a move to sign Gareth Bale if the Welshman becomes available, Dharmesh Sheth has claimed.

The Red Devils have been regularly linked with a move to sign the Wales international over the past few transfer windows.

However, there is a sense that Bale could be ready to leave The Bernabeu this summer after five seasons in the Spanish capital.

Bale was out of favour throughout most of the 2017-18 season but the Welsh forward scored a flurry of goals to end the season on a high note.

The 28-year-old came off the bench to score twice in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win against Liverpool FC in the Champions League final in Kiev last month.

Real Madrid have a new manager at the reins after Julen Lopetegui controversially replaced Zinedine Zidane at The Bernabeu.

Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season but need to make a 19 point gap on champions Manchester City.

Sky Sports News reporter Sheth claimed that Manchester United would be interested if Bale becomes available.

“If a Gareth Bale becomes available I am sure Man United would be interested,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.

Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge.

The Red Devils finished in second place in the Premier League last term but a long way behind Manchester City.
