La Liga expert hints Man United could sign 29-year-old from Real Madrid
La Liga expert Rik Sharma believes Manchester United target Gareth Bale is facing a bleak future at Real Madrid
Gareth Bale is facing a bleak future at Real Madrid amid reported interest from Manchester United, Rik Sharma has claimed.
The Wales international endured a frustrating campaign under Zinedine Zidane after he struggled to hold down a starting spot in the Real Madrid team.
Bale fell behind Marco Asensio and Isco in the pecking order at Real Madrid last season to raise questions about his future.
The 29-year-old scored four times in the last three La Liga games of the season to finish the 2017-18 season on a positive note.
Bale came off the bench to score twice in Liverpool FC’s 3-1 win against La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final last month.
Sky Sports News reporter Sharma handed Manchester United a boost after suggesting Bale’s time could be coming to an end at The Bernabeu.
“Bale will be one of the losers,” Sharma told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“Ultimately, with Spain, he has always opted for more tactically intelligent than gifted players. The winners will be Isco and Asensio.
“He has made Isco the key player in the Spain team. It wouldn’t make any sense for him not to do that at Real Madrid. It will be an easy win for the new manager.”
Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the Old Trafford outfit.
The Red Devils have signed Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot in a £17m deal from Portuguese side FC Porto in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United have also agreed a £52m deal for Fred from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
