Possible Man United blow as Gareth Bale makes Real Madrid decision – report
Gareth Bale is set to reject Manchester United in favour of staying at Real Madrid, according to a report
Manchester United target Gareth Bale is set to remain at Real Madrid and prove himself under new manager Julen Lopetegui, according to a report.
ESPN is reporting that Bale is happy to remain at the Champions League holders following the appointment of the former Spain head coach as Zinedine Zidane’s replacement.
The same article states that Bale would rather work with Lopetegui at The Bernabeu rather than secure a return to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
According to the same story, Manchester United remain interested in the 29-year-old this summer following persistent speculation in recent seasons.
Bale is thought to be determined to earn a regular starting spot under the new Real Madrid boss after he grew frustrated under Zidane later term.
The Welshman forward ended the 2017-18 La Liga season out of favour under Zinedine Zidane but did score four times in his final three games.
The Welsh forward came off the bench to score twice in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win against Liverpool FC in the Champions League final last month.
Bale moved to Real Madrid in an £85.3m deal from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the 2013 summer transfer window.
He has won three Champions League crows, La Liga and the Copa del Rey at Real Madrid.
