Reporter Daniel McDonnell believes Man United will make a big to sign Gareth Bale this summer
Manchester United will make a bid to sign Real Madrid star Gareth Bale this summer, according to reporter Daniel McDonnell.
The Red Devils have been regularly linked with a move to sign the Wales international since his move to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.
Bale was signed in what was a world record transfer feee after the Welshman moved to Real Madrid in an £85.7m deal from Spurs.
However, Manchester United are thought to be interested in bringing Bale back to the Premier League following a stop start season.
The 29-year-old scored twice in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win against Liverpool FC in the Champions League final last month.
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have also been touted as a potential destination for the Welsh forward
Daily Mirror reporter McDonnell believes Manchester United will make an attempt to sign Bale in the summer transfer window.
“If you want a come and get me plea, that was as blatant as they get,” McDonnell told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“There will be a queue of clubs to sign him. We know Man United have tried to sign him twice already. They maintain their interest. I expect them to make a bid this summer.”
Bale has won four Champions League titles, the La Liga crown and the Copa del Rey trophy during his five seasons at Real Madrid.
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table this season to secure a spot in the Champions League.
The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley last month.
