Jose Mourinho warned about Man United signing Gareth Bale
Serie A expert Gabriele Marcotti warns Manchester United about signing Gareth Bale
Gabriele Marcotti has warned Manchester United supporters that signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid will compromise their transfer plans to improve other areas of the squad.
The Red Devils have been regularly linked with a move to sign the Wales international since Bale moved to Tottenham Hotspur from Real Madrid in the 2013 summer transfer window.
The 29-year-old has won four Champions League titles, the La Liga crown and the Copa del Rey during five seasons in the Spanish capital.
Bale scored two goals in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win against Liverpool FC in the Champions League final to put himself firmly in the transfer window.
Manchester United missed out Bale’s signing last summer despite the 20-time English champions being linked with a move.
Real Madrid are set to undergo some change this summer after Zinedine Zidane stood down as los Blancos manager at the end of the season.
Serie A expert Marcotti believes Manchester United will have to sacrifice their transfer plans if the Red Devils sign Bale this summer.
“Man United can afford Bale but they don’t have infinite funds,” Marcotti told ESPN FC.
“If they are going to sort out their defence and get another midfielder, they will want good ones who are really expensive in the current market.”
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season but ended up 19 points champions Manchester City.
The Red Devils were 1-0 winners against Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
