Phil Neville's son Harvey has signed a deal with Manchester United to follow in his father's footsteps
Phil Neville’s son Harvey has signed a deal with Manchester United as he bids to follow in the footsteps of his father and uncle.
The 16-year-old had been training with La Liga side Valencia during Phil’s stint as a coach at the Spanish club.
Harvey earned a reputation for being something of an expert at free-kicks and corners during his spell with Valencia’s youth academy.
However, the midfielder has now signed a deal with Manchester United ahead of linking up with the 20-time English champions’ youth teams.
The teenager previously played at Manchester United as a junior before he moved to their bitter rivals Manchester City.
Harvey took to his Instagram page to confirm the news.
He wrote: “I am very proud and excited to have signed for the club I have supported my whole life 👹👹@manchesterunited”
Harvey’s father Phil won six Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League title during his 11 seasons in the Manchester United team.
Neville scored eight times in 396 appearances in all competitions before the versatile midfielder moved to Everton.
Harvey’s uncle Gary netted seven times in 602 games for the Red Devils and won eight Premier League titles, three FA Cups, two League Cups and two Champions League titles.
