Manchester United have been told that they will need to shell out £40m if they want to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Manchester United are keen on a move to bring the 22-year-old midfielder to Old Trafford following Michael Carrick’s retirement.
Aston Villa failed to gain promotion to the Premier League and that has prompted fresh uncertainty about Grealish’s future at the club.
However, the Birmingham outfit are believed to be keen to keep hold of the midfielder and have placed a £40m asking price on Grealish this summer.
According to the same report, Manchester United are keen to bring in some midfield reinforcements this summer following Michael Carrick’s retirement and the fact that Marouane Fellaini has not yet signed a new contract.
The same story also says that Manchester United are on the lookout for a new central defender and a full-back this summer.
The Red Devils are aiming to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season after they ended up second in the table last term.
Manchester United have not won the Premier League since 2013.
